Dear World, help me fund my writing

Hi there. My name is Amar, and I am a writer. I have written a bunch of posts on Medium. The kind people at The Ascent have been kind to publish a recent post of mine.

However, the problem is that I am not making any money writing stuff on medium. Don’t tell me that you should do your passion work for free.

This post is my attempt at crowd sourcing the collective knowledge of the medium platform to understand how I can pay for my writing, here and elsewhere.

Don’t get me wrong please. I didn’t start writing yesterday. I have written a bunch of posts here, and have written 5 books. I am self-publishing a book I have written on happiness by next month and I can guarantee that it will make the world a happier place.

I need help and I am asking for it on arguably the most popular platforms for writers on the internet. Hey Medium Staff, like some appreciation?

I need to keep going with writing. I love to write. It injects life inside me. I love to write but without financial motivation, I can’t find the incentive to write here, and keep going.

Writers here would know that it takes effort to create a post, especially if you were to write a 1000–2000 word piece. I love writing those pieces and can write 20000–30000 words a month if I can get someone to fund all of that.

As a writer, I write on personal development, freelancing, comedy (since I am also a stand-up comedian), entrepreneurship, life lessons etc.

Since I am based in India, and India is not a Stripe supported country, I can’t be a part of the Medium Partner Program. You see, third world sucks. That was a joke. I love India, but that’s for later.

I have a written mission statement.

Please help me make my mission a reality. I can’t stress this enough.

Also, please clap. Claps don’t cost money. Clap till you palms hurt.

No? Okay.

Thanks for reading.
